Bishop Horace's Story

Bishop Horace Brown Sr. was born on January 16, 1938 in Vidalia, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie and Mother Lommie Brown. At a young age, Bishop Brown made a choice to be active in the church. He played the bass drum with excellence. He Loved church. He managed, led, trained and produced a record during his singing ministry. The organized various singing groups such as his very own children, The Little Sensationals, The Consulators, and many more. He accepted his call into the Ministry around 1970 in Mayday, Georgia under the leadership of Bishop C.A Brown at the Church Built on the Rock. Later, in ministry, he became a part of The Pure Church of Righteousness under the leadership of Bishop Mose and Mother Mary Jane Williams whom he served faithfully. After many years of service in Pure Church of Righteousness, Bishop Brown then founded Our Daily Bread Gospel Tabernacle in 1996. During his years of ministry God allowed Bishop Brown to travel over 100, 000 miles preaching, teaching, and declaring the works of the Lord, and leading men, women, boys, and girls to Christ. Bishop had the privilege of Pastoring over 6 +churches within the South Georgia, North Florida, and South Florida Regions. He served as a revivalist to all churches, Holiness, Baptist, and Methodist. He believed that everyone needed Jesus. Bishop was true to the faith, He denied himself, took up His cross, and followed Christ. Bishops often said to others, Stay with the Lord, Be Humble, Love People, and treat them right.
Not only was Bishop a Godly Man, Bishop was a Family man. He would do anything and everything to Keep his family together. He was also an entrepreneur. He was a hard worker, He established the Echols County Car Wash, and Maes Place.
One of Bishops final accomplishments was the founding of a ministry in Valdosta, Georgia. He founded the Our Daily Bread Gospel Tabernacle Deliverance Center Church in 2009 and was blessed to purchase the building along with others. Labor of Love. Job well done. Take your Rest. It's ALL God. May 28th, 2017 Departed this life to live again.

He leaves to cherish his legacy his beloved wife of 55 years: Mother Mae Ethel Brown; four devoted Children: Sylvia (Deacon Thomas) Johnson, Deacon Ricky (Miracle) Brown, Bishop Horace (Prophetess Brenda) Brown Jr., Pastor Lisa (Robert) Jones; sixteen Grandchildren: Lisheema Barr-Brown, Karon Brown, Jevin (Cynthia) Brown, Desjorie Brown, Eden Fluker, Pastor Aden (Jasmine) Fluker, Dante Fluker, Taela Johnson, Jerard Brown, Jerald Brown, Justin Brown, Ricky Brown Jr., Brandon Brown, Chelsea Jones, Robert Jones Jr., and Faith Jones; five Great-Grands: Eli Brown, Jevion Brown, Aalyiah Brown, Addison Fluker, Aden Fluker III; four Brothers: Calvin Brown, Grady Brown, Clarence Brown, and Amos Brown; Two Sisters: Mother Gordie Thomas and Elnora Arnold; Sister-in-laws: Mary Ann Brown, Arletha Waymon, Lillie Roberts, Pat Roberts, Julia Mae Roberts, Minster Tina Roberts, Norma Jean Brown, Betty Brown, Catherine Brown, Lessie Mae Brown, Lucenda Brown, and Lueceal Brown; Brother-in-laws: Bobby Brown, Pastor Arthur Waymon, Jerome Roberts, Pastor Waymon Roberts, Deacon James Roberts, Minister Roger Roberts, Eddie Shephard, Tommy Lee Thomas, and Bishop John Henry Lett; God children: Shawonna Wright, Latoya McNair, Deacon Andre Johnson, Deacon Jerry Parnell, Brother Johnny F. Philman, and Pastor Wesley(Gennetta) Alexander; and a host of many more spiritual children. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. at the sanctuary of Mt. Olive Holiness Church of ODBGT (Statenville, Ga.) Bishop Horace Brown Jr; Pastor.
Bishop Brown will lie in state, Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 12Noon 3:00 p.m. at the sanctuary of Deliverance Center ODBGT (Valdosta, Ga.) Pastor Lisa Brown-Jones, Pastor.
Home Going Celebration will be held, Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at The Union Cathedral (1050 East Hill Ave. (Valdosta, Ga.), Bishop Wade S. McCrae is pastor, Bishop Horace Brown Jr; will officiate. Interment will follow in the Southview Cemetery * Clay Road, Valdosta, Ga.
The Brown Family will receive friends at the Echols County Community Center in Statenville, Ga. after final rites for His Grace, Presiding Prelate Emeritus Bishop Horace Brown Sr.
Final rites were entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home Inc.
