Bruce's Story

Bruce Williams, 85, Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his residence. He was born on January 19, 1932 in Stockton, GA to the late Archie Derious and Annie Belle (Clark) Williams. He was a faithful, devoted, loving member of the Stockton Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director and Treasurer where he cherished every moment spent. He worked at First State Bank and Trust in Valdosta for over 50 years. He started as a bank teller and worked his way up to Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Tullis, Maggie Tullis, Pearl Bennett, Ernestine Roberts; his brothers, Edgar Anderson, Alwin Anderson, Sidney Eugene Williams, Lacy Williams, and George Owen Williams.
His survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Stockton Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, GA. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Music Funeral Services in Lakeland, GA.
