Claude Level "Buster"'s Story
Claude Lavel Buster Christie, 81, of Valdosta, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at Lakeland Villa in Lakeland, GA. He was born on September 27, 1936 in Echols County, GA to the late Judson Claude Christie and Lula Mae Fletcher Christie. Buster was a machinist for NAPA, a veteran of the United States Army and of the Church of Christ faith. He was Past Worthy Grand Patron of the State of GA Eastern Star. Mr. Christie was two time Past Worshipful Master of Azalea Masonic Lodge # 716. He was involved with Deep South Officials Association and GA High School Association.
Mr. Christie is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Joseph Hugh and Cindy Christie of Clyattville, William Donald and Tonya Christie of Lakeland, four grandchildren, William Christie, Matthew Christie, Nicholas Christie and Hannah Christie, sister, Barbara Faye Bowser of Indiana, PA, brother, William Preston Christie, brother and sister in law, Roger Hugh and Lynn Christie of Hahira, sister, Valeria Ann Christie of Valdosta, former daughter in law, Sherry Monk of Clyattville, many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Julia Christie, and two brothers, Boyd Christie and Ray Christie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend David Paulk and Mr. Roger Christie officiating. Burial with Eastern Star Rites will follow at Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Monday at the funeral home.
