Corrence Ray (Shorty) Fields, Sr. 86, of Pinetta, FL passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Madison, FL. He was born August 13, 1931, in Hahira, GA to the late Leslie L. Fields and Vera (Webb) Fields. Mr. Fields attended school in Hahira and Valdosta State College prior to working and retiring from the Owens- Illinois paper mill after 42 years as a lab technician. During his retirement years, he enjoyed spending time with family, working on his farm, tending to his cows and riding horses. He was a faithful and active member of Pinetta Baptist Church. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Fields and Derry Fields, and a sister Virginia Garrison.
Survivors include: Daughter, Carol Fields (Johnny Sansberry), Son, Ray (Kathy) Fields Two granddaughters, Dayna (Blaine Hendrick) Fields, and Kimberly (Michael Mills) Fields and a host of nieces and nephews. And the one true love of his life for 37 years, the Mother of his children, and best friend Wanda Cowart Fields Griffin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 12:00PM at Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Pinetta Baptist Church of Pinetta, Fl.
