Deacon Clarence's Story

Deacon Clarence Edward Harris departed this life on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home, 1609 Leone Ave, Valdosta, GA.

He was born to the late Mr. George and Lessie Golden of Valdosta, GA on November 15, 1935. He attended school and graduated from Lowndes County Vocational School in 1950. Deacon Harris was an employee of Harris Pine Mills for 20 years. After Harris Pine Mills closed, he was employed at Moody Air Force Base until his retirement in 2010. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Morning Star Baptist Church.

Deacon Harris was a loving husband and father, and leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Addie Harris, 3 children, Mrs. Cheryl Davis, Mrs. Gloria Jean Green (Lewis), Mr. Len Davis (Delores), brothers Mr. George Harris Jr., Mr. John Lee Harris, Mr. James Harris, step-sister Mrs. Georgia Ford, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and his many good friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother Alvin Harris (Pauline), and his son-in-law Telecia Davis.

Home Going Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the Morning Star Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Final rites were entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home Inc.
