Dorothy's Story

Mrs. Dorothy Carter Reddick, 79, of Cook County passed away in the early morning hours of October 8, 2017 at her daughter's residence. "Mrs. Dot," as she was known to many, was born in Cook County on February 4, 1938 to the late Julius Johnny "Pete" Carter and Alma Gandy Carter. Known as "MeMe" to many in her family, she was a devoted member of Massee Baptist Church and loved Sunday School Class, Bible School, AWANA, Vacation Bible School, choir and family gatherings. She was a lifelong resident of Cook County and was retired from B.C. Moore's.

Mrs. Reddick is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Joel Reddick of Cook County, Neal and Buffy Reddick of Hahira; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Bo Tucker of Hahira; seven grandchildren: Jacop and Danielle Reddick of Adel, Zachary Reddick of Tallahassee, FL, Kristen Tucker of Valdosta, Jaycey Reddick of Cook County, Scarlett and Andrew Harper of Berrien County, Julia and Garrett Faucette of Athens, GA, and Lacey Reddick of Hahira; and eight great-grandchildren: Jeneva Overby, Sadie Hardy, Delilah Reddick, Anabelle Harper, River Reddick, Rhett Harper, Summer Reddick and Sabrina Reddick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Reddick and a granddaughter, Eva Caroline Tucker.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening October 12, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday October 13, 2017 at Massee Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Milliken officiating. Interment will follow at Sparks City Cemetery.
