Edwin Dale Johnson- 81 of Stockton, GA passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 in the Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy battle of lung cancer. He was born in Valdosta, GA March 21, 1936 to the late Leon Johnson and Eva Mae (Timmerman) Johnson. He was Baptist by faith. Dale loved spending time with his horses as well as working with his blueberry plants. He was an avid Baseball fan, the Atlanta Braves being his favorite team. He was a pitcher and played with Lanier County High School and other local teams including the Twin Rivers League. He was recruited by The Detroit Tigers professional baseball team to play on the minor- league team Decatur Commodores. His baseball career was later ended with a shoulder injury. He retired from Lee Engineering in Dupont, GA after over 20 years of service. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Harold and Bobby.

Survivors include: 2 Daughters & Sons-in-law: Debbie (Bobby) Tomlinson, Adel, GA, Donna (Wilburn) Holland, Hahira, GA; Son, Gary White, St. Cloud, FL; 2 Sisters & Brother-in-law: Sara Lou & Donald Seckinger, Stockton, GA, Monteen Clanton, Orlando, FL; 6 Grandchildren: Bob Tomlinson, Brett Tomlinson, Kylie Holland, Kendall Holland, Chad White, Derek White; 8 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Stockton Baptist Church with burial to follow at Wayfare Cemetery. Mr. Johnson will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 6-8 p.m at the funeral home.
