Evangeist Frances Williams

Evangelist Frances Peterson Williams was born on November 14, 1946 to the parentage of the late Dan and Willie Bell Peterson in Cairo, Georgia. Later years in life, the Peterson family migrated to Florida. At the age of 18, Frances heard the Word of the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ in her life. She was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, in Florida, at Bethel Mount Zion Holy Union Church of God, under the leadership of the late Bishop Elijah Alford. During her time in Florida, she served faithfully under the late Pastor Alford and his wife, the late Sister Lena Alford. Frances was a light to her family as she was the first to receive the Holy Ghost and to live a Christian life amongst her parents and siblings. With time, the Lord blessed the Peterson family to become a part of the Royal Family of God.
Along her later life's journey, Frances' light shined bright and caught the attention of a young man by the name of Curtis Williams. Curtis traveled five years to Hallandale, Florida; until February 27, 1971, when he moved Frances to Valdosta- as the love of his life and wife. The Lord blessed this union with a marriage of forty-eight wonderful years and their only child, Jeffrey.
Upon moving to Georgia, Evangelist Williams joined Tridestone Mount Zion Holy Union Church of God and served faithfully until her declining health. Frances was a member of this organization for over fifty-six years- serving as a member, evangelist, and youth department worker. Frances was a warm and caring person. She was known as an excellent cook with a willingness to feed the people of God. Also, she was employed with Valdosta State University and retired after twenty-eight and a half years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Dan and Edward Peterson and grandparents; mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers- in-law, William Doston, Arthur Williams Jr, Arthur Tyson, and Leverette Frederick.
She leaves to cherish her memory and to celebrate her life: her devoted husband of 48 years, Deacon Curtis Williams; her beloved son, Jeffrey; her beloved daughter-in-law, Felica; grandchildren, Kanisha, Jamayah, Aerial, Braxton, Akasha, Danyelle, Alex, and Calvin; great- grandson, Ky'Rei; sisters, Pastor Armie Lee Tyson, Louise Frederick, Jacqueline (Willie) Sales, Barbara Peterson and Retha (Rick) Woodberry; brothers, Pastor Bobby (Theresa) Peterson, Frederick Peterson, and Jimmy (Linda) Peterson.
