Mrs. Fay Duke Brown, 92 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away July 10, 2018 at the Langdale Place. Mrs. Brown was born April 26, 1926 in Lake Park, Georgia to the late Luther Lloyd Duke, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Jones Duke. She lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida, then moving to Avondale Estates, Georgia. Mrs. Brown moved to Valdosta in 2005 and was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She was retired from the Army Corp. of Engineers after 25 years of service. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of the Georgia Womens College where she was class Valedictorian.
Mrs. Brown's survivors are a step-daughter, Lynn Brown of Jacksonville, Florida and the following nieces and nephews: Luther L. "Buddy" Duke of Adel, Georgia; Kay and Pat Patten of Valdosta; Max and Kellie Duke of Avon Park, Florida; Elizabeth and Dick Pipe of St. Simons Island, Georgia; Kirk and Melissa Duke of Adel; Kenneth and Jan Saunders of Sparks, Georgia; Donna Saunders of Duluth, Georgia; Aubrey Ben and Sheri Duke of Flowery Branch, Georgia; Denise and Bruce Dutton of Duluth, Georgia; Karen and Tommy Holley of Thompson, Georgia; Cathy Clause of Santee, S.C.; Maxwell Smith of Brookesville, Florida; Linda and Ron Castor of Canton, Georgia; a host of great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM; Saturday; July 14, 2018 at the chapel of Boone Funeral Home; 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia with Rev. Pat Patten officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service; 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. "Gene" Brown; four brothers; Lloyd Duke, Jr., Vinson A. Duke, Homer A. Duke, Ben Duke and one sister, Peggy Duke Smith.
