Mr. Forrest J. Caldwell, Sr., 73, of Adel, Georgia, passed away May 27, 2017 at his home. He was born on December 13, 1943 in Geneva, Alabama to the late Carroll and Mildred Barrett Caldwell. He lived much of his life in Bainbridge, Georgia before moving to Adel in 1980. He was a Baptist and was retired from Farmers and Merchants Bank of Adel where he served as bank president.
Mr. Caldwell was a published author and loved traveling all over the world. He was very knowledgeable in business and finance and at the age of 40 he was the youngest bank president in the state of Georgia. He was also the co-founder of Circlestone Country Club which aided him in one of his favorite hobbies - golf. In addition to golf he loved history, trivia, crossword puzzles, and science. He was a food connoisseur and enjoyed eating everything his fiancee would cook. He was a wonderful father and mentor to many who knew him. He will be greatly missed more than words can ever say.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his fiancee, Gina Legette of Adel; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Forrest J. "Bo" Caldwell, Jr. of Hahira, Georgia, Charles Bradley and Billie Carole Caldwell of Adel, and Sage Harris of Adel; a daughter, Katie Barrett Caldwell of Panama City Beach, Florida; two grandchildren: Chase Bradley Caldwell of Jacksonville, Florida and Jacey LeeAnna Caldwell of Adel; two sisters: Mary Anne "Shangie" Holt of Adel and Carol Jean Hight of Bainbridge; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Caldwell will be held in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home on Thursday June 1, 2017 at 4 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
