Frances's Story

Mary Frances Searcy Sayre (Fran) was born May 14, 1929, in Wauchula, Florida, to John Bishop and Maude Estelle Hodge Searcy. She was raised in Wauchula, and moved to Boise, Idaho before settling in Valdosta in 1975.
Fran is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Eleanor Searcy Hartley and Lynell Searcy Stapleton, and an infant brother. She leaves behind her daughter Tammy Rene' Sayre, son Mike Sayre, daughter-in-law Lane Plageman Sayre; grandchildren Courtney Sayre, Haley Sayre LaHood, Tripp Talley, Maggie Sayre, and Keith Sayre, and great-grandchildren Langley Layton and Hadleigh LaHood.
Fran was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved her family, was a devout Christian and active member of First Baptist Church Valdosta, where she was always ready and willing to serve others.
Fran will be cremated by Music Funeral Home, Valdosta. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018, beginning with visitation at 11:30 and the service at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church, 200 W. Central Ave., Valdosta, GA. She will be laid to rest in her family's plot in her home-town of Wauchula, Florida, on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mission Fund at First Baptist Church, Valdosta.
