Geraldine "Gerri"'s Story
Geraldine Gerri Ann Wright, 79 of Valdosta, Georgia and formerly of Preston, Missouri, died February 21, 2018 surrounded by loved ones in her daughters home.
Gerri was born February 11, 1939 in Topeka, Kansas and was the daughter of Germaine and Charles Bowman. She was a member of the Gathering United Methodist Church where she found great joy participating in the card ministry. Gerri also had a passion for gardening (her favorite flowers were hydrangeas) and spent many hours making sure her yard was beautiful and weed free. She never missed an opportunity to bake something sweet and delicious for loved ones (including her dog, Rambo), and oftentimes ate dessert before the main course. She was fun, approachable, and had a love for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Gerri is survived by her brother, Tony (Debi) Bowman; her children Bill (Barb) Niswonger, Devi (Ed) Sharp, Darla (Jeff) King, Duane Sadler, Barbara (Vince) Bower, Robert Wright, CiCi (Larry) Bebe, Brenda (David) Heusterbeng, Liz (Dave) Chitty; niece Jeanne French; nephews Jim Rust, Michael Bowman, Ken Bowman; as well as 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Frank Wright and sister, Donna Rust.
A private memorial service will be held in Ellijay, Georgia for family members. Although Gerri will be dearly missed, we celebrate the fact that she is at peace with our Creator. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Wright Family is being cared for by the compassionate and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
