Henry Que Edward Collins Jr., was born on November 10, 1962 in Syracuse, New York to Henry Sr. and the late Leona Collins. He returned to his heavenly home on December 13, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Henry graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School and received his Associates Degree in Applied Science from Lake Region State College. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
Henry was joined in Holy matrimony on August 11, 1984 in Valdosta, Georgia to the love of his life Sheila T. Collins. They were married for 33 years. Henry and Sheila raised three children: Godfrey, Shamika, and Najda, with discipline and love.
Henry was a devoted husband, father, and provider. He loved the Lord which was evident by his humble spirit. He was kind and always available to listen with a caring ear and give sound advice. He was a passionate outdoors man who especially loved fishing.
Henry retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. He continued his work as a laboratory technician with South Georgia Medical Center for 13 years.
Henry was preceded in death by his mother: Leona Collins and his brother: Reginald Collins.
He leaves to cherish his passing and adorn his memory, his loving and devoted wife: Sheila T. Collins. His father: Henry E. Collins Sr. His children: Godfrey Green of Crestview, FL., Shamika Hall of Portage, MI., and Najda Collins of Valdosta, GA. One sister: Lydia Collins of Syracuse, NY. Four brothers: Gerald Sanders of Boston, MA., Rodney Collins and Cedric Collins both of Syracuse, NY., and George Collins of Belleville, MI., Six grandchildren: Kahli Green, Sky Green, Jada Green, Quincy Green, and Sophia Green all of Florida, and Nylah Stallworth of Valdosta, GA., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Home Going Celebration will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor George W. Blount is Pastor and will Officiate. Burial, New Jerusalem Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Harrington Funeral Home. Final rites were entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home Inc.
