Henry's Story

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that is which is planted. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2)

A Time to be Born:
Henry Eugene Cormier, Jr. affectionately known as Jr. Boy was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April7, 1964 to Mr. Henry Eugene Cormier, Sr. and the late Veronica Gail LeBlanc. After attending public school in Jennings, Louisiana, he later became employed by Union Tank Car in Valdosta, Georgia where he remained employed until his death. On October 17, 1997, Henry was joined in holy matrimony to Vernita Cormier.

He attended Union Cathedral where he confessed his faith in Christ on December 8, 1996. He loved football, LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He will be missed by many.

A Time to Die:
Henry Eugene departed this life on December 15, 2017. He was the oldest son.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife: Vernita Cormier; son: Brannon Cormier of Baton Rouge, LA; two step-sons: Kelvin Williams of Huntsville, AL., and Kendrick Gray of Panama City, Fl.; father: Henry Eugene Cormier, Sr. of Jennings, LA.; step-mother: Chrissy Cormier in Jennings, LA.; sisters: Eva (Gary) Richardson of Mansura, LA.; Annie (Bruce) Gregg of Fredricksburg, VA.; Denise McKenney (Jade) of Indiana; step-sisters: Tasha Alexander of Memphis, TN.; Monique Berry of Jennings, LA.; brother: Nathaniel Cormier of Jennings, LA.; granddaughters: Brielle, McKenzie of Baton Rouge, LA.; step-grandsons: Xavier, Quentin of Panama City, Fl.; friends and cousins: Kelvin Williams of Lake Park, LA., Wendell Perkins of Dallas, TX.; Union Tank Car employees; Kenny Lane, Kyle Coleman, Kayne Enyland, Grady Townsten, Cedric White, Nelson Rutledye, and Leroy Wooten; and a host of relatives and friends.

Home Going Services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Union Cathedral. Bishop Wade S. McCrae is Pastor and will also officiate. Interment will follow at the Southview Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at Harrington Funeral Home. Final rites were entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home Inc.
