Howard's Story

Howard Keith Trumm, 65
It is with great sadness that we write to you about our brother's passing. Keith was born on a Saturday, January 5, 1952, in Ocala, Florida to parents Howard W. and Betty Trumm, and years later, would be declared a "gentleman" by his twin sister, explaining that Keith had allowed her to go first, in the order of their birth. What was soon apparent, though, was the gift of a very bright son, and brother, born with a jovial disposition and a great capacity to love, enjoy life, and brighten the world.
From his youth, Keith was industrious...always earning his way in life...cutting lawns for neighbors, finding work at every turn, and thus establishing a life-long pattern of discipline and responsibility. He grew up in the days when young men bought their own cars (they were really 'cool'), would go out to Lake Weir to water ski and fire-up the grill, but would also rally together on freezing nights, to go fire-up the orange groves to save the crops. It was a wholesome era, where dreams and goals were balanced with movies and dances; faith and reverence for God was established at Grace Episcopal Church in Ocala, where Keith and his three siblings were all baptized in 1960; families met at the Elk's Club for dinner, and Keith was always dressed in the finest attire from Greiner's.
A graduate of Ocala High School in 1970, he continued his education at CFCC in Ocala, and completed his studies in Business Management at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
Returning to his hometown, Keith became an employer, forming Devland Construction Co., and Marion Properties and Investments. While his talents were honed in the building industry, his calling was in his deep care for his employees, as well as all who knew him as a trusted friend.
Keith relocated to Georgia in the late-90's and in January of 2000, formed another business, "Automotive Transfers, Inc.", in Valdosta, providing a service to dealerships across the country, and once again, employed many who came to know and love him, genuinely caring for all people he encountered in his life.
His personality was as robust as the foods he loved to cook. Grilling was of great enjoyment to Keith, and he loved inviting friends and family over to share a good meal with him. Keith loved all animals, and always had a faithful dog at his side. His love of plants was inherited from his Dad and his Grandfather; his keen eye came from his Mother's love for finer things and great design. Wherever Keith was, and whatever he touched, he set about to improve and make more beautiful, not only his environment, but the lives of the people who surrounded him and were touched by his life, his love, and his laughter.
But for all of Keith's success, his greatest joy in his lifetime, was for his beautiful and beloved daughter, Ashley Elizabeth, born as a gift to him, on Father's Day, 1982. She is most like her Daddy, and we are all grateful for the gift that she is to all of us, in our lives, as well.
Keith lived his life on a grand scale, with big dreams fulfilled by brave successes. His deep faith was in God, trusting in his Savior, Jesus' finished work upon the cross for his salvation. He loved the beauty of the world that God created, and enjoyed the harvest of a planted garden. And though he left too soon, he was surrounded by his family when he departed this life, on a Tuesday, March 28, 2017. As much as we miss him, we can rejoice that Keith is enveloped and filled with the healing love of God, and is with his parents, who preceeded him in death. Like the gentleman his twin sister declared he was born, we like to think, that Keith went on before us now, to help God prepare a beautiful homecoming for us all, one day, in God's perfect time.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Trumm, Ocala, Florida, and her mother Ruie; his wife, Lynn, of Quitman, GA, and her children, Zackary (Rebekah) Bentley, children, Isabella and Everson, Jesse (Kelsey) Bentley, and Kathryn B. (Jordan) Taylor, children, Stella Kate and Davis, and Lynn's father, Wallace Lewis, all of Georgia. Sisters, (twin) Karen (Alain) Chardain, and Mary Kathleen Trumm, and Margaret (Wayne) Roberson, all of Ocala, Florida. Nephew, Ryan Kelly, Gainesville, Fl., Neices, Brooke Kelly (Carl Lorenz) daughter, Ellie Lorenz, Wilmington, NC, Lindsey (Matt) Ormond, children, Karson and Aden, and Cori (Anthony) Feo, children, Dominic, Vincent, and Luca, all of Ocala, Fl; his Uncle, George M. (Babs) Douglas of Tucker, GA, and his children, cousins, Vicki (Fred) Cooper, St. Augustine, FL, and Christy (John) Otto, Puerto Rico. And faithful friend, his chocolate lab, "Eli", who now lives with Marty and Wayne, in Ocala, FL. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
