Mrs. Irma Lee Howell, 80, of Adel, Georgia, passed away June 30, 2017 at her home. She was born on January 6, 1937 in Adel to the late Lonnie Edward Thomas and Irma Moye Thomas. She was lifelong resident of Cook County where she was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and worked as a homemaker.
Mrs. Howell is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Leroy Howell; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Teresa Howell; a daughter, Teresa Howell Parrish, all of Adel; four grandchildren: Justin Parrish of Atlanta, Christopher and Crystal Howell, Whitney Howell and her friend Will Willis, and Whitney Howell, all of Adel; a grandson-in-law, Heath Tomlinson of Adel; three great-grandchildren: Leyton Tomlinson, Reece Tomlinson, and Bella Lindsey, all of Adel; and a sister, Geneva Bradford of Tifton, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Parrish Tomlinson; three brothers, James Thomas, Calvin Thomas and Wayne Thomas; and four sisters: Patricia Scarborough, Wynelle Folsom, Mildred Brady and Estelle Ragland.
The family will receive friends Sunday July 2, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel). The funeral service will take place Monday July 3, 2017 at 11 AM at Antioch United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Brady, Rev. Christy Bandy, and Rev. Randy Mosley officiating.
