Jack's Story

Jack R. Busbee, Sr. 90 of Valdosta passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 in the Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness. He was born on November 10, 1927 in Pelham, GA to the late Ira & Mamie (Herring) Busbee. Jack served in the United States Air Force Reserves during the Korean Conflict. Jack worked with the Lowndes County Prison until it closed and then worked as heavy equipment operator with the Lowndes County Maintenance crew. Jacks passion was being on the water mullet fishing in his skiff. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen Busbee, son, Ricky Busbee and daughter, Clyde Busbee.
Survivors Include: Daughter & Son-in-law, Kay & Mike Matthews, Defuniak Springs, FL; Son & Daughter-in-law, Wilbur & Shirley Pelphrey, Valdosta; 2 Grandchildren: Mary Leslie Lyons (Shannon) & Jennifer Lee Holt; 7 Great Grandchildren; Special Nephew, Jerry Jerome Adams, Jacksonville, FL
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 4, 2017 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with the burial following in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services on Monday. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
