James's Story

James Albert Bradford, Jr, born October 16, 1930, died July 5, 2017. Jim (also known as Junior and/or Shorty) died of natural causes after a short stay in Florida South-Orlando Hospital, Orlando, FL. He attended Pine Grove High School, spent four years in the USAF as an aircraft mechanic. He then worked thirty years for Eastern Airlines in Miami and Orlando, Florida. He worked an additional five years at Page AvJet in Orlando, Florida. He was a dependable worker all his life and enjoyed being around airplanes. Retirement suited him well. Fishing and hunting were life long interests. Spectator sports included football, baseball, basketball and golf. He learned to play golf after retirement and that became an enjoyable pursuit for the remainder of his life. He remained attuned to all wildlife in his immediate environment. This was a constant source of enjoyment for him.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, James Albert Bradford and Rachel Della Wetherington Bradford. Those left to mourn him include his wife of sixty years, Martha Reeves Bradford, sons Scott and Alan Bradford, grandson Dillon Bradford, sister Margaret Aultman, husband Hilton Aultman, niece Laura Sanna, her husband Dave Sanna, and many cousins and family friends on both sides of the family. His special furry friends, Louie, pointer, and Marigold and Tulip, domestic cats miss him too.,
Those who have reached out have mentioned his kindness, humility, gentlemanly ways. His wife describes him as steadfast, respectful of others, interested in others well being, committed and a man of his word. Love of family and personal responsibility were the primary values that informed his life. He was a quiet man, always observing what others might not see. He also gave the best hugs.
Cremation services were provided by National Cremation Society, 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, FL 32765. A celebration of his life was held at the Wedgefield Golf Course, Orlando, FL, on July 22, 2017. Graveside service will be scheduled at the Fellowship Cemetery in Cook County, Georgia at a later date this year.
