James Paul Griner, 83, of Nashville died Thursday June 1, 2017 at his residence.
He was born December 31, 1933 in Berrien County to the late Samuel Byrd Griner and the late Amy Gaskins Griner. He was a retired engineer auditor with Georgia Department of Transportation, a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother: Sam Griner.
He is survived by his wife: Anelda Baker Griner of Nashville; 3 sons: Greg Griner of Nashville, Don (Pam) Griner of Seven Lakes, NC and Chip Griner of Kathleen; half brother: Junior (Ida) Luke of Nashville; sister-in-law: Lana Griner of Brooklet; 4 grandchildren: Michael Griner, Catharine Griner, Gretchen Griner and Matt (Taylor) Griner; 1 great grandson: Waylon Samuel Griner.
Funeral services will be held Sunday June 4, 2017 at 3 PM at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association.
