Jimmie Revere was born in Thomasville, GA, on October 10, 1943, to the late Fannie Mae Johnson Revere and the late James Thomas Revere, Sr.
Jimmie was raised in a loving home in Norman Park, GA. He was a proud member of the 1961 graduating class of William Bryant High School in Moultrie, GA. After graduating high school, Jimmie enlisted in the United States Army where he received several decorations, badges and medals to include: Sharp Shooter (Rifle M-1), Parachutist Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Medal. He also received the Vietnam Service Medal for serving in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged after he valiantly served his country. Later, Jimmie decided to further his education and enrolled at a local college in Miami, FL and worked as a computer programmer for the Miami Heart Institute.
On December 28, 2017, the Lord granted Jimmie eternal rest.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister: Ora Lee Williams; grandparents: Fred Johnson, Clander Johnson, Turner Revere, and Precious Revere; his aunts and uncles: Cora Lee Enoch (Ralph), Aretha Marshall, Jim Johnson, and Robert Johnson.
Jimmie leaves cherished memories to his loving wife of 21 years, Mrs. Ella Revere of Barney, GA; five children: Angela Jackson (Bennie), Beverly Williams (Ulysee), Lashae Berry, Antonio Williams, and Ricky Norwood, all of Valdosta, GA; four sisters: Ruthie Mae Revere of Miami, FL, Freddie Mae Reaves of Miami, FL, Rachel Greene of Norman Park, GA, and Lorene Wilson (Lorenzo) of Hephzibah, GA; one brother: James Thomas Revere, Sr. (Mamie) of Pensacola, FL; his grandchildren: Kentarvis Jackson, Daushawn Goins, Kim Williams, Abel Norwood, Eli Norwood, Jediah Jones, and Alyah Williams; special nieces: Ava Simmons of Deltona, FL, and Koretta Revere of Miami, FL; special cousin: John L. Johnson of Deltona, FL; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. Jimmie Revere will be Saturday, January 6, 2018, 11:00 a.m., from the sanctuary of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1051 Howell Road, Valdosta. Dr. William C. Morgan is pastor and Bishop J. P. Miller will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Public viewing will be Friday, January 5, 2018, 10:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m., Godfrey Funeral Home.
