Julian Waldo Stalvey, Jr.


Julian Waldo Stalvey, Jr., 62, of Woodstock, GA, passed away on December 12, 2018.
Born in Hahira, GA, to Julian Waldo and Doris Catherine (Patterson) Stalvey, he grew up in Valdosta, GA. Julian was a graduate of Lowndes High School and Valdosta State College. After graduating from high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed a long career in contract negotiation and administration with Lockheed Martin and Georgia Tech and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alpharetta.
Julian was a skilled marksman, earned a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon-Do and was an accomplished dog trainer. He loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed fishing and spending time on the lake with his dogs. An avid reader, Julian's curiosity and love of learning made him a lifelong student.
Julian is survived by his mother; sisters Sharon (Barry) Nedoba of Atlanta, GA, Sandra (Gary) Register of Union, KY, Denice (Steve) Ulm of Valdosta, GA; brother Mark Ervin of Tallahassee, FL; niece Daphne Copeland (Caleb Hellerman) of Framingham, MA; nephews Brent Register (Jessica) of Cincinnati, OH, Zachary Ulm of Valdosta, GA; great nieces and nephews (Silas, Harper and Inman of Framingham, MA, Layla and Ava of Cincinnati, OH) and long time neighbors and friends Patricia and Lara Deaton.
A private memorial was held in Atlanta and burial is in Friendship Cemetery in Hahira, GA.
