Larry's Story

Larry W. Fry, 83, of Hahira died on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie. He was born in Hahira on January 18, 1934 to the late Lloyd and Jewell Register Fry. Mr. Fry retired as a Master Sergeant and Flight Engineer Instructor from the United States Air Force after twenty-one years of service. After retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Fry was a rural letter carrier for Hahira Post Office. He enjoyed computers, working in his pecan orchard and volunteering for the Red Cross at Moody Air Force Base. Mr. Fry loved his cats, Dude, Cornbread and Jay Jay.
Survivors include his wife, Lavern Fry of Hahira; two sons and a daughter in law, Lawrence Fry of San Francisco, CA, Michael and Lori Fry of Los Angeles, CA; his grandson, Ethan Fry of San Francisco, CA; his cousin and his wife, Gerald and Betty Bailey of Valdosta and numerous other cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Saturday, July 8, 2017 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-3pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Georgia Sheriffs Boys Ranch.
