Lorie's Story

Mrs. Lorie Apperson-Moore, 58, of Sparks, Georgia passed away December 3, 2017 at Navicent Health in Macon. She was born on October 15, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John Felix Scarboro and Dorothy Louise Radford Scarboro. She has lived in Cook County the last 40 years where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Adel. She was also a member and past president of World Sign Associates and was active with the Adel/Cook County Chamber of Commerce and was the president and owner of Albany Neon Signs in Adel.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth "Kenny" Lee Moore of Sparks; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Rita Posey of Hahira; a daughter, Crystal Corrine Wilcox of Adel; a step-daughter, Bailey Moore of Hahira; seven grandchildren: Christian Posey of Bremerton, WA, Austin Yawn of Adel, Parker Posey of Hahira, Cole Posey of Hahira, Andrew Yawn of Adel, Lainey Posey of Hahira and Andrew Wilcox of Dublin, GA; her father, John Scarboro of Adel; and a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ray Rowan of Sparks. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Apperson; her mother, Dorothy "Dot" Scarboro; and a sister, Donna Kim S. Thornton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening December 5, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel). The funeral service will take place on Thursday December 6, 2017 at 2 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Marlette and Rev. Stan Stalvey II officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Sheila Humber will play piano and Glenn Beard will sing "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace." Christian Posey, Parker Posey, Justin Ply, Don Rentz, Russell Brown and John D. Moore will serve as active pallbearers; Mike Martin and Bobby Wilcox will serve as honorary pallbearers.
