Mrs. Lynn Walker, a long time resident of Dasher, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at South Georgia Medical Center. Lynda Nell (Hefton) Walker, daughter of the late William Franklin Hefton and Nellie Mae Rowlett Hefton, was born on May 29, 1927 in Sherman, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas and a master of Library Science at Rutgers the State University in Brunswick, New Jersey. She had a full membership in Beta Phi Mu, International Library Science Honor Fraternity.
Mrs. Lynn married John T. (Tom) Walker in 1951 and remained his wife until his death.
She was a retired school teacher and a school librarian. She had a love for Dasher Bible School, now Georgia Christian School that lasted her lifetime. She was a longtime active member of the Dasher Church of Christ and had a commitment to support many local and foreign missions.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Hefton and sister in law, Anne, of Sherman, Texas, sister, Marie Mears of Baltimore, Maryland, her husband, John T. Walker of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She is survived by a niece and nephew, brother in law and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Bax Walker, niece, Ginger Roden Weeks of Tennessee, nephew, Roddy and Sharon Roden.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, at eleven a.m. at Dasher Cemetery. Mr. David Nelson will officiate.
