Margaret Lewis Craig passed away on December 30, 2017. She was born on January 7, 1920 in Eudora, Arkansas. Margaret was the middle child in a family of 5 daughters born to Leone and Leon Lewis. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Craig Sr., son, Paul Craig Jr., grandson, Mark K. Duerson and son-in-law, G. Kearney Duerson. She is survived by daughter, Margaret Duerson, grandson Daniel Craig Duerson and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Duerson, Darbi Duerson, Hayden Duerson and Parker Duerson, as well as, three great-great-granddaughters, Emma and Heather Carter and Reagan Duerson. Dr. Craig received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Mississippi College and her doctorate from the University of Southern Mississippi. She joined the faculty of Valdosta State University in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 1968 retiring as Professor Emeritus in 1982. A private memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2017. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LARC of Valdosta, GA.
