Mrs. Mary Helen Dillard Surrency, 88, of Adel, Georgia passed away June 12, 2017 at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia. She was born on December 29, 1928 in Hahira, Georgia to Joe Newton Dillard and Marion Ethel Barfield Dillard. She lived most of her life in Cook County where she was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Surrency is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Sherry Surrency of Adel, and Richard and Mary Surrency of Nashville; tow daughters: Libby Darby and Tina Surrency, both of Adel; five grandchildren: Chad Surrency, Craig Surrency, Jordan Darby, Whitney Surrency Tyson and Christy Surrency Nisen; four great-grandchildren: Toye Caine Surrency, Brody Surrency, William Hudson Tyson and Kylie Laken Nisen; and a brother, David Wright Dillard of Hahira. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Dina Fallon.
The Surrency family will receive friends Tuesday evening June 13, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service will take place Wednesday June 14, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Jefferson and Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Bobby Shierling, Clay Shierling, Jared Howell, Gary Cooksey, Joe Lewis and Jeff Lane will serve as pallbearers. Special musical selections to be played at the service will be "Consider the Lilies," "I Call It Home" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain."
