Mother Luella's Story

Mrs. Luella Willis was born to the late Robert Garfield Taylor and Luella Taylor on September 4, 1922. She attended school in Ormond Beach, Florida. She was called to her eternal home on May 16, 2017.
Mother Willis was born in Ormond Beach, Florida until the death of her parents.
She then resided with her grandmother; Carrie Taylor Former Slave) in Pavo, Georgia. Then she married Clarence Willis Sr. in Quitman, Georgia. From this union of 35 years, came thirteen children. She joined and was a faithful member of Braswell Temple Church of God in Unity for 20 years. Prior to her death, she was a member of St. Timothy AME until she became ill and could not attend church services. Mother Willis greatest role she played in life was God's servant where she fed many transit people and served many years (20) on the Usher Board at Braswell Temple. She served on Rev. Ulysesus Barber Aid Board at St. Timothy AME Church. Mrs. Willis was a devoted wife and loving mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband the late Clarence Willis Sr. Three children; Shelly Willis, Joe Willis, Mozella Glaster and Roy Willis. Her siblings; Leroy Taylor, James Taylor and Eldora Bowen.
Mother Willis was survived by her three daughters; Margaret Willis Jackson, Blanche Crawford (Roy Deceased), and Ella Willis. Her sons; Johnny (Doris) Willis of Valdosta, Ga., Curtis (Janet) Willis of Birmingham, AL., David (Lorraine) Willis of Savannah, Ga., James (Betty) Willis of Tifton, Ga., Clarence (Mable) Willis, and Tommy Willis of Valdosta, Ga. She leaves to cherish a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Home Going Service, Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the Harrington Chapel. Interment, Southview Cemetery. Harrington Funeral Home Inc.
