Mr. James's Story

Text size

James Lewis Harmon was born August 24, 1963, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Lewis Thomas Harmon and the late Mamie Lee Harmon.
He received his education in the Valdosta City School System and was a proud member of the 1981 graduating class of Valdosta High School. A man of dedication and service, James was employed by South Georgia Medical Center for over twenty years. He was a compassionate, loving and caring man with a infectious smile.
It is said that there are units to measure the worth of a man as a man, regardless of his birth, or his creed. Hes measured by things such as, whether he befriended those in need. Was he ever ready with words of good cheer to bring back a smile to banish a tear. How did he live? What did he give? These are the things most remembered by those who love him still.
On Saturday, September 23, James was granted eternal rest.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister: Mary Louise Harmon; one brother: Robert Oliver and one niece: Takela Scott.
James leaves cherished memories to his wife: Joyce Ann Harmon of Valdosta, GA; his three children: Keandrea Moore (Edward) of Savannah, GA, Bryant Washington of Delray Beach, FL and Bernard Rice of Atlanta, GA; four sisters: Betty Daniels, Sharon Rozier (Douglas), Eltina Baker (Ricky) and Charles Ann Harmon, all of Valdosta, GA; two brothers: Anthony Harmon Sr. (Claire) of Atlanta, GA and Eddie Evans of Boynton Beach, FL; one aunt: Lois Harmon; a host of nieces and nephews: Vita Oliver, Douglas Rozier II, Bethany Daniels, Shabaka Harmon, Nundi Harmon, Tulani Harmon, Victor Harrington, Stacey Everett, Tiffany Baker, Robert Oliver III, Anthony Harmon, Jr. and Timothy Rozier; three special friends: Richard Campbell, Wayne Taylor and Sheila James; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
