Myra Leola Boyette

October 27, 1943 - January 26, 2019

Myra Leola Boyette Myra Leola Boyette left us Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2019, after a brief stay in hospice. She was born in Valdosta, the beautiful daughter of the late Sallie & Harmon Boyette.
Myras creativity and curiosity about life was matched only by the overwhelming love others had for her. To her nieces and nephews, she will always be the Diva, the Rock Star, the eccentric, beloved Auntie Mame and Santa Clause.
Her involvement in the lives of her Cabbagetown neighborhood in Atlanta was one of caring and concern for the well-being of others, especially the young ones, whom she adored and whose art work adorned the walls of her home.
Myra grew up in Valdosta with her sisters, Betty & Gloria, and her late brother, Ike. She graduated from Valdosta High School in 1961. She was also a graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon. Her entire career was spent with Delta Airlines as a flight attendant.
Myra forged a unique path through life, where flowers will ever bloom.

She was a friend, and fun to fly with.
She taught me to get around Paris after flying with her for a month, two days in Paris every week for a month. Fun memories of Myra. She will be missed. Sorry for your loss.

My mother and I were so blessed to have Myra in our lives! She would always remind Mother that they were birds of a feather with their love of the fancy things in life. We shared our love of the Boyett family and Delta Air Lines! I know that she is now in a better place with her precious mother, my mother and Jerry. Heaven's gain is OUR loss!!!

I was so shocked and saddened to read of Myra's death. I remember well her spending the night at our house with my sister, Susan and her being in the Old Maids play with my mother and others. Lots of memories from Lee Street Baptist days. And of course of Aunt Sallie - my long time friend, Sunday School teacher and mentor. My deepest sympathies and love go out to Betty, Gloria and the extended families. I didn't know she was sick. God Bless you all!
