Pat M. Smith Mrs. Pat M. Smith, 84, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away July 7, 2018, at Fellowship Home in Valdosta. Mrs. Smith was born September 3, 1933, in Adel, Georgia, to the late Hubert Raymond McKinnon and Sue Groover McKinnon. She had lived most of her life in Adel before moving to Fellowship Home. Mrs. Smith was a member of the North Bridge Church in Hahira, Georgia, a retired English teacher and social worker with the Cook County School system, and a homemaker. Interests through the years included reading, gardening, sewing, piano and sports. She is an inductee into the Cook County Sports Hall of Fame.
Mrs. Smith's family are her husband, Mr. James D. "Jimmy" Smith, and her son, Matt Smith, both of Valdosta; her daughter and son-in-law, Kim Smith Greene and Cam Greene of Atlantic Beach, Florida; five grandchildren: Matt and Janelle Greene of Panama City Beach, Florida; Dr. Jake and Julie Greene of Phoenix, Arizona; Mikaela Smith of Chicago, Illinois; Connor Smith of Marietta, Georgia; and Karsten Smith of Athens, Georgia; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Grace Greene of Panama City Beach, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Ida Clemons of Okeechobee, Florida; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy McKinnon of Adel, along with several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Raymond McKinnon and her grandson Jameson Smith.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Adel with Rev. Mike Wells officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church.
