Polly  Ruehl


Polly Ann Banks Ruehl of Tucson, Arizona, died August 6, 2019, peacefully in her sleep at her home after a seven year battle with cancer. She was born on March 10, 1958, in Winter Haven, Florida. She graduated from Lowndes High School, Valdosta State College in Nursing, and the University of Arizona with a Masters in Nursing Science and Nurse Practitioner degrees. She taught nursing at the University of Arizona and worked at Tucson Medical Center and the University Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband John R Ruehl and daughter Zoe Ruehl of Tucson, Arizona; her parents Joe and Gail Banks of Lake Park; and sisters Jill Banks of Valdosta, Wendy Banks Carter of Lake Park, and Sally Banks Richman of Parker, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Cindy Banks O'Dai.
She was a United States Air Force veteran and will be interned at the National Cemetery, known as the Punch Bowl, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the Tucson Cancer Center, Tucson, Arizona, or Sloan Kittering Memorial Hospital in New York City, NY, or the charity of your choice.

So very sorry for your loss. Polly was a wonderful, generous person who I’ll remember as someone who was always willing to open her home to us young AF knuckleheads. She will be missed, but not forgotten.
