Mr. Tommy Vann Alderman, 74, of Adel, Georgia, passed away Monday August 21, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. He was born on April 8, 1943 in Nashville, Georgia to Vance and Verna Lee McLendon Alderman, both deceased. Mr. Alderman lived most of his life in Cook and Berrien Counties and was a member of Adel United Methodist Church. He worked as a purchasing agent for Hood Industries in Metcalf, Georgia and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Alderman is survived by his wife, Patricia Horne Alderman of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Jason and Kristie Alderman of Anniston, Alabama, and Christopher and Camille Alderman of Dallas, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Lee Sumner of Homerville, Georgia; six grandchildren: Tyler Alderman of Troy, AL, Anna Catherine Alderman of Athens, GA, Jase Alderman of Anniston, AL, Avery Grace Alderman of Dallas, GA, Gavin Day of Homerville, GA, and Brooks Alderman of Dallas, GA; three step-children: Joye and Tony Waller of Griffin, GA, Jill J. Booth of Tifton, and Britt and Heather Davis of Enterprise, AL; step-grandchildren: Laurel Cate Davis and Lucy Davis of Enterprise, Ashley Waller and Alex Waller of Griffin, Sarah Beth (Jackson) Milway of Rome, GA, and Brady, Bailey, and Colby (Leah) Booth, all of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Peggy Alderman of Adel; and two nephews: Jon (Danielle) Alderman of Adel and Derek Alderman of Marathon, FL . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Jean Hixenbaugh Alderman, and his brother, Vern Alderman.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, August 22, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home North, 202 N. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on August 23, 2017 at Adel United Methodist Church with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex.
