Virginia May Wetherington, 83, of Nashville died Tuesday September 26, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center.

She was born October 31, 1933 in Berrien County to the late Alvin J. May and the late Maggie Howard May. She was a homemaker and a retired bank teller and courier for the United Banking Co. and Farmers and Merchants Bank with 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband: Curtis Wetherington who died March 30, 2014; daughter: Susan Wetherington; granddaughter: Brook Chauncey; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her daughter: Sandra (Shelly) Chauncey of Pearson; son: Greg (Donna) Wetherington of Nashville; 3 sisters: Marie Morgan of Ray City, Juanita Davis of Howell and Idelle Mosley of Lizella; 2 grandchildren: Chris (Nicole) Wetherington of Willacoochee and Jeremy (Katie) Wetherington of Suwannee, GA; and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 29, 2017 at 2 PM in the Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Ray and the Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Interment will follow in Empire Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday 6 to 8 PM.
