William Swanson "Bill" Clark, 80, passed away on August 31, 2017 in Gainesville, FL. Bill was born September 20, 1936 in Bourbon County, Kentucky to Jessie Clark and Anna Belle Finney Clark.
William honorably served our country in the United States Air Force during the Japan, Vietnam War and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, after 21 years of service. After retiring from the Service he moved back to Perry in 1975. He worked with State Road Dept. for 11 years as a safety inspector, and later worked with Smurfitt Stone Container.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Anna Belle Clark, a brother Wayne Clark.
Mr. Clark is survived by his children, Jesse Clark (Rhonda), and Jeannie Smyrnios, and Carolyn Flores; his sister Joyce Weaver (Jerry); longtime companion Lavonne Davis; as well as 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta, with Ben Kimmell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
