Alfred's Story

Mr. Alfred "A.D." Ball, 99 of Quitman passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Southern Pines in Thomasville. Mr. Ball was born February 21, 1918 to the late Thomas Redding Ball and Elizabeth Lenora Green Ball. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Thomasville. Mr. Ball loved his church and family.
Survivors include his daughter, Harriet (James L.) Moody, Sr., of Dixie; grandchildren, James L (Stephanie) Moody, Jr., and Walter Daniel Moody; great grandchildren, Payton Towns, Ian Moody, and Reagan Moody; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ball was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie B Mathews Ball; brother, John Thomas Ball; sisters, Mildred Leola Griner, Margaret Adelia Burke, Edna Elizabeth Harden, and Corliss Maxine Pritchett.
Graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bishop Ben Smith officiating. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.maxwellmillerfuneralhome.com.
