Arthur J. Silver, Jr. 72 of Hahira passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 in the Lakeland Villas after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 20, 1944 in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Arthur J. & Annette (Saunders) Silver. He served in the United State Army. Mr. Silver lived in Savannah for 35 years. Following retirement in 2015 he moved to Hahira. He retired as the District Manager for the Savannah District in the Fabricare Industry. One of his passions in life was building a model train track in his garage. He was also an avid professional and college football fan. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Bodo Blitch and brother, John Silver.
Survivors Include: Wife, Pam Silver, Hahira; Daughters & Sons-in-law: Gisela Schlatter, Bonita Springs, FL, Ursula Brandt, Ft. Wayne, IN, Pamela & Travis Taylor, Valdosta; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Elmo Blitch, Ft. Wayne, IN; 13 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters & Brothers-in-law: Elleen Gildea, Bartlett, TN, Linda & Greg DeVero, Jacksonville, FL, Deborah & Glenn Johnson Virginia Beach, VA; 2 Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Patrick & Toni Silver, St. Augustine, FL, Robert & Betty Silver, Virginia Beach, VA and a number of nieces and nephews.
As per his wishes he will be cremated and a service will be held in Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, Fl at a later date. No formal visitation will be held.
