Betty Jean was born in Live Oak, FL. on Oct. 6, 1934 to the late Luther and Bonnie Faye Wilson. She was a former resident at Hillmont Apts in Lake Park, GA. for many years. She loved her Lord, loved to read His word and hear His word preached. She dearly loved her grandson Kevin and his family. Her favorite past time was crocheting lap throws for people in the nursing homes, people she knew were sick, ladies at the doctors office and even the doctors, neighbors and her church families. She was a baker at heart and shared her treats with everybody. She considered her friends at Hillmont Apts. part of her family, loved their visits to the nursing home and loved to hear updates on the neighborhood news.
Betty Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Bonnie Faye Wilson, brother, C.W. Wilson, sisters/brother-in-law, Myrtle Lee and Walter Wilson, and Willene and Wilbur Brown and by her daughter Debbie Cushman. Survivors include one grandson, Kevin McMahon, the mother of their beautiful children, Melinda; three great grandchildren, Kadin, Madison and Kaylie; sisters, Susie J. Auvil of Hampton, VA. And Jackie Levy of Lake Park, GA.; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center for the love and care they showed Ms. Betty during her stay. She made many friends there and she loved them all. She and her roommate, Ms. Bunny looked out for each other. Also thanks to the ICU staff at Lake City Medical Center and the staff at Haven Hospice in Lake City for all the care, love and comfort given to Ms. Betty and her family. May God bless you as you blessed her. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. is in charge of arrangements.
