Billie D. Garschagen - 85 of Quitman passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 in the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a lengthy illness. She was born on December 3, 1931 in Waco, TX to the late Delmeta & Erna (Jaster) Beauchamp. She loved reading, antiques, and enjoyed running Kite Mercantile in Johnson County for over 20 years. She spent most of her retirement years rescuing animals and giving them happy homes. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Garschagen.

Worth, TX, Susan & Dumas "Ben" Bennett, Quitman; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Paul & Cathy Garschagen, Quitman, David & Mechelle Garschagen, Quitman; Grandchildren: Matthew Clanton (Kimberly), Adam Garschagen and Zeke Garschagen (Harzar) and Great Grandchildren: Austin Clanton & Alec Jason Garschagen
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Carter Cemetery, Echols County. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Humane Society, 1740 W Gordon St., Valdosta, GA 31601 or the Refuge of Hope, 7566 US-84, Quitman, GA 31643.
