Carolyn's Story

Carolyn Husbands Hardee, 84 of Valdosta, the wonderful blessed wife of almost sixty years of Ferman Hardee passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center due to complications from emergency surgery and an eight-year battle with dementia. She was born January 24, 1933 the daughter of the late Henry Woodward Husbands and Bamma Thornhill Husbands. When she met Ferman she was working at Metal Products in Valdosta, where she worked for 10 years. After the birth of her first child, she became a full time homemaker. Carolyn was a loving, giving wife and mother. She was a talented seamstress and loved making clothes for her family. Carolyn loved her Lord and her church. She was a member of Benevolence Baptist Church and attended faithfully as long as her health allowed.
She is survived by her loving husband Ferman Hardee; her three daughters and their husbands, Renee and Wade Renn of Jennings, Florida, Tara and Keith Goble of Valdosta, and Debra and Harry Hall of Arcadia, Florida; four grandchildren, Jennifer Goble (Jeremy) Swain, Ryan (Haley) Goble both of Valdosta, Blake Hall of Acadia, Florida, and Allen Renn of Jennings, Florida; three great grandchildren, Karlynn and Grady Swain, Cade Goble; three step grandchildren Susan (Eric) Munson of Apple Valley, California, Cindy (Monte) Johnson of Douglasville, Georgia, and Wade II (Amy) Renn of Roswell, Georgia; Eight step great grandchildren, and six step great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Husbands; and her brother, James Husbands; and a special aunt Vera Bowen.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Benevolence Baptist Church with Bro. David Paulk II officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
