Charlie was born in Augusta Georgia. He graduated high school from North Carolina School of the Arts and received a degree in Acupuncture in 2015 from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. He served 10 years in the Navy which led him out to San Diego.
Charlie is survived by his partner, Kent Michael Weingardt, of 16 years, his mother Michelle D Hobby of Ashville, NC, his father and stepmother Dr. Charles and Nancy Hobby of Valdosta, GA, his brothers and sisters, Helen (John) Hardin of Rincon, GA, Vicki (Don) Winningham of Pell City, AL, Tommy (Brandi) Hobby of Valdosta, GA, John Hobby of Charlottesville, VA, Joseph Hobby of Golden, CO, David Hobby of Valdosta, GA and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in San Diego Saturday, May 20 for family and friends.
