Mr. Edward Morris, 86, of Adel, Georgia, passed away May 24, 2017 at his home. He was born on April 30, 1931 in Berlin, Georgia (Colquitt County) to the late Robert and Lizzie Pyles Morris. He was raised in Berlin and moved to Cook County in 1981. Mr. Morris loved his Lord and was a member of Adel First Assembly of God Church. Mr. Morris was a retired truck driver for Adel Grocery Company and was also retired from the United States Army as a First Sergeant where he served honorably for 20 years including service in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He enjoyed fishing and working in his yard.
Mr. Morris is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mary Alice Leverett Morris of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Robert Mike and Wanda Morris of Valdosta, Georgia, and Tony D. and Kay Morris of Lake Park, Georgia; three step-sons and a daughter-in-law: Ronald Chatting and Robert Chatting, both of Tifton, Georgia, and Richard and Suzanne Chatting of Macon, Georgia; two granddaughters: Kassandra and Andrea Morris, both of Valdosta; and his beloved cat, Sassy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Dink Howell Morris.
The funeral service for Mr. Morris will be held Saturday May 27, 2017 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Leverett and Rev. Eric Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvester Cemetery in Cook County. The family will receive friends Friday evening May 26, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S.
