Ethel Dean Guess - 87 of Valdosta passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 18, 1930 in Garretts Bend, WV to the late Basil & Dora (McClure) Bragg. She earned her LPN degree later in life and enjoyed taking care of others. She worked with Crestwood Nursing Home and also was a private duty sitter with Elder Care. She was Church of Christ by faith and enjoyed crossword puzzles & watching westerns. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jolly Gay Moses Rogers; great grandson, Dalton Yarbrough and brother, Doyle Bragg.
Survivors Include: 3 daughters & sons-in-law: Dora & Bruce Carpenter, Port Orange, FL, Ethel & James Yarbrough, Valdosta, Dorthy Morabito, Hollister, CA; 12 grandchildren: Valerie Urban (Michael), Sherry Rowe (Gene), Melanie Howell, David Howell (Lenora), Joya Howell, Heather Peavy (David), Jasmine Yarbrough, Jessica Yarbrough, Megan Morabito, Courtney Morabito, Rhonda Frasu (Reggie) and Christine Ogle; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great granddaughters; sister: Dorothy Graley, Hurricane, WV; brother & sister-in-law: Kyle & Linda Bragg, Brunswick, GA; adopted daughter: Loujeania & Jonathan Bruhl, Panama City, FL and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening, May 22, 2017 at the funeral home.
