Eugene J.'s Story
Mr. Eugene J."E.J." Wetherington, 95, of Crawfordville, Florida, formerly of Lenox, Georgia, passed away June 7, 2017 at The Fellowship Home in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born on December 2, 1921 in Lenox, Georgia to the late Charles Angus Wetherington and Addie Bell Rentz Wetherington. He lived in Crawfordville and Lenox most of his life and was a member of Woodville Baptist Church in Woodville, Florida. Mr. Wetherington was a retired farmer and retired pipe fitter for Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He also served honorably with the United States Army Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Wetherington is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lula Wetherington of Crawfordville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra W. and Gaylon Graham of Valdosta; four grandchildren: Devan Graham, Jordan Graham, Jeffrey Wetherington and Shana W. Schaldenbrand; four great-grandchildren: Tyler Wetherington, Luke Wetherington, Skylar Sutton and Kathryn Wetherington; and a brother and sister-in-law, Emerson D. and Barbara Rose Wetherington of Lenox. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Drawdy Wetherington; a brother, William Ralph Wetherington; and a sister, Louise W. Roberts.
The family will receive friends Friday evening June 9, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel, Georgia. The funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home South with Rev. David Gordon officiating.
