Grady's Story

Grady Felton Jordan, 86, passed away on March 26th, 2017, after several years of declining health and heart failure. He was born and raised in Lowndes County (GA) but had been a longtime resident of Pickens County (SC) most of his adult life.
He served in the US Army, Headquarters Company of the 315th Signal Corps Construction Battalion in Germany during the Korean War. He was employed in the Tool & Die Department of Metal Products Company in Adel (GA) and then Sangamo Electric Company in Pickens until his retirement.
He was a faithful member of Hahira United Methodist Church and Adel United Methodist Church, both in Georgia, and then Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens, SC. He served in a wide variety of capacities over the years from Usher to Sunday School Superintendent to Chairman of the Administrative Board.
He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife, Blannie (Futch) Jordan, to whom he had been married over 61 years; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Jesse Jordan; five sisters; and six brothers, including his beloved twin brother Brady.
He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany (Jordan) Reed; his son, Max A. Jordan and wife Sarah; sister Martha E. Bullington; sister-in-law, Marcia; sister-in-law Hellyn, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the people who uplifted him with prayers, cards, visits, and homemade treats over the past few years. The family also expresses gratitude to the health care providers who kept Mr. Jordan as healthy and happy as possible during his final time with us.
A memorial service was held at Hahira United Methodist Church in Hahira, GA, on Saturday, April 1st, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the PXE Society (pxe.org) or to Hahira United Methodist Church.
