Mrs. Inez Bell Godwin McDaniel, 95 of Quitman passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home Quitman. Mrs. McDaniel was born October 3, 1921 and was the daughter of the late B. F. & Mable (Barrington) Bell, Sr. She was an active member of the Northside Baptist Church in Quitman for over 65 years, where she served as the church treasurer, taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, was a member of the WMU and also served as the church clerk. Mrs. McDaniel retired from Southern Propane of Quitman in 1986.
Survivors include her children, Robert Earl (Judy) Godwin of Donalsonville, Beverly Godwin of Quitman, Gail (Buddy) Johnson of Quitman, Sue (Leon) Burnett of Tallahassee, Billy (Janice) McDaniel of Elko, Ga., Johnny (Iris) McDaniel of Valdosta, and Jim McDaniel of Quitman; grandchildren, Stephen (Krys) Godwin, Michael (Andrea) Godwin, Byron Johnson, Kelly (Jake) Brown; 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Jones of Moultrie, and Iris Southerland of Winder, Ga.; two brothers,
C. D. Bell of Perry, GA., and Jimmie Bell of Olathe, KS; two sisters in law, Elsie Entzmingers of Lakeland Fl, and Mary Pegg of Lakeland, Fl. Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her husband, R. E. Godwin, and
J. H. McDaniel; two brothers, Earl Bell and Franklin Bell; two sisters, Mercelene Lawrence and Hortense Decker.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harris and Rev. Earl Justice officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Northside Baptist Church, 8559 U S Highway 84, Quitman, GA. 31643.
