Mr. Johnny Danforth, 66, of Leesburg, Georgia, passed away on Thursday August 24, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Born in Adel, Georgia on May 17, 1951, he is the son of John Cleveland "J.C." Danforth and Ruby Catherine Sumner Danforth, both deceased. He lived much of his life in Cook C0unty and the last 36 years in Lee County where he was a retired plantation manager and a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
Mr. Danforth is survived by his wife, Dianne Mixon Danforth of Leesburg; two grandchildren, Alexis and Bailey Danforth of Leesburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law: W.L. and Nora Danforth of Eastman, Georgia and Larry and Jan Danforth of Perry, Georgia.; and a daughter-in-law, Shauna D. Davis of Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cara Danforth; his son, Jason Charles Danforth; and his sister, Rosemary Danforth Crosby.
Th funeral service for Mr. Danforth will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 4 PM in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel with Rev. Davis Thurman officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cook County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday one hour prior to the service and on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Amazing Grace Baptist Church (2217 Ledo Rd., Albany, Georgia 31707).
