Mrs. Lanita Dixon, 60 of Morven passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Dixon was born December 6, 1956 to the late Harold Jenkins Lang & Luvernia Pelham Lang. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Dixon of Morven; sons, Clint (Jessica) Thompson of Millen, Ga., and Shane Dixon of Fl.; daughters, Stephanie Edwards of Morven, Lacey Dixon of Morven, and Kristi Dixon of Fl.; grandchildren, Dustin Edwards, Gracie Edwards, Randall Dixon, Brent Dixon, Shane Dixon, Casey Vertommen, Jennifer Waters, Jerry Smith, Johnnie Smith, Shirley Holley, Cody Benton, Anthony Dixon, Jeannie Williams, Tristan Williams, Matthew Peaden, and Kaylee Peaden; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Arthur (Sue) Lang of Fl., and Harold (Glenda) Lang of Fl.; sister, Lavada (Mike) Huff of Fl. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeannie Dixon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Valdosta with Bishop Hier officiating. Interment will follow at Campground Cemetery in Morven. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home.
