Larry Samuel Webb, 74, lifetime resident of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Born in Valdosta on December 4, 1942, he was the son of Samuel Webb and Cora Lee Kimsey Webb. Larry had worked in maintenance for Kentucky Fried Chicken for 40 years. His favorite pastime was working on lawnmowers and helping folks. He enjoyed his 1934 Dodge Coupe and loved time spent with his friend Keith Coleman. Larry was a caring person, he loved the Lord and was a strong prayer warrior.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Hires Webb of Valdosta; daughters, Debbie Russo (Jamie Benson) of Valdosta, Beverly Strasburg of Valdosta, Tessie Hires of Jennings, Florida, Sherry Sorrell of Valdosta; a son, Michael Hires of Brevard, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bobby Webb, a sister, Betty Humphrey and a son, Stanley Hires.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Ernie Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Longbridge Cemetery.
