Mrs. Odell Richardson Campbell, age 77, was born June 10, 1939, in Howell, GA, to the late Fannie Armstrong and the late Willie Richardson.
Sister Odell received her education at Echols County High School, Valdosta Tech, and Valdosta State University.
Her employments included Nurse, Real Estate Investor and Wedding Planner. She worked at Pineview Hospital, South Georgia Medical Center; Nurse and Office Manager for the late Dr. Jerry G. Purvis, Sr.
On Monday, March 6, 2017, God gently closed her weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine".
Sister Odell leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of fifty-eight (58) years, Marcus Campbell, Sr.; two children, Bridgette Campbell (Wayne) Glover, Mableton, GA, and Marcus (Carole) Campbell, Jr., Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Morgan Courtney Campbell, Zachary Wayne Glover, Kathryn Jacobie Glover, Marissa Carolyn Campbell, Robert Charles Campbell and Andrew Jeremiah Campbell; sisters, Ebecca Peterman, Daytona, FL, Jacklyn (Howard) Forth, Brunswick, GA, Kerry Williams, Nahunta, GA and Sandra Andrews (Tommy), Brunswick, GA; brothers, James (Deloris) Scott, Jr., Columbia, SC, John Scott, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Elijah Peterman, Daytona, FL and Willie (Wanda) Richardson, Waverly, GA; a special nephew, Dale (Julie) Richardson; sister-in-law, Sarah Kier, Valdosta, GA; brother-in-law, Willie Frank Campbell, Tampa, FL; her right-hand man, Joe Jackson; beloved pets, Bella and Missy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Southside Church of Christ family and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie Armstrong Richardson and Willie Richardson; her brothers, Albert Scott and Herman Richardson; her sisters, Lizzie Richardson White and Minnie Bell Richardson; and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Eula C. Godfrey.
The celebration of a life for the late Mrs. Odell Richardson Campbell will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Southside Church of Christ. Bro. John Iverson, Sr. will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held today from 10am until 8pm. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Godfrey Funeral Home, Friday, March 10, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the following: The American Cancer Society, The Georgia Sheriff's Boys Ranch and/or The Southside Church of Christ Building Fund.
