Ronald (Willie)'s Story

Ronald (Willie) Allen Sutton, Sr., 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was born on April 15, 1935 in Dasher, Georgia to the late Bernice & Mildred Smith Sutton. He graduated from Clyattville High School and served in the United States Air Force. He farmed for many years and retired from PCA after 44 years of service. Mr. Sutton was a hard worker and left a wonderful example of service and dedication for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, hunting and farming. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Darryl Michek of Clyattville, Liz and J.R. Wood of Clyattville, Teresa Carter and Mark Wombles of Lake Park, and Diane and Tim Aultman of Lake Park; his son, Ronnie and Theresa Sutton of Clyattville; Thirteen grandchildren and their spouses Robbie and Amy Hall of Clarksville, TN, Candi Montague and Bryan McRee of Valdosta, Bobbie Lynne and Michael Stephens of Douglas, Carrie and Jeremy Caraway, Jay and Kelsey Carter, Lee and Kat Montague, and Chris Hightower all of Clyattville, Nikki and Shane Howell of Lake Park, Ashley Sutton of Lake Park, Brooke and Staten Levings of Fargo, Tyler Aultman of Lake Park, and D.J. and Heather Michek of Clyattville; twenty great grandchildren; his sister, Betty Sutton Rudd of Valdosta; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pat and David Williamson of Statenville, Laquita Salter of Thomaston, Corky and Hallie Ellerbee of Milledgeville, Chuck Ellerbee and Terry Ellerbee both of Thomaston, and Harriet Sutton of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 53 years, Martha Ellerbee Sutton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. P.C. and Annabelle Ellerbee; his three brothers, Fred Sutton, Kenneth Sutton, and Billy Sutton; his son-in-law, Jackie Carter; his great-granddaughter Rebecca Hall, and his grandson-in-law, Joey Popham.
Services for Ronald (Willie) Allen Sutton, Sr. will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. The burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
